  • The saturation of soil with excess water is called water logging.
  • When there is too much water in a plant's root zone, it causes waterlogging, which reduces the amount of oxygen available to the roots.
  • When soil is nearly saturated with water for long periods of time, its air phase is restricted and anaerobic conditions rule, it is said to be waterlogged.
