20% apples in a basket go bad. If there are 40 good apples in the basket. Find the total number of apples in the basket.

Here it is given that 20%apples go bad,

So, the remaining good apples =100%-20%=80%

So, 80% apples are good so, it must be equal to 40.

Now let the total number of apples is x

So, 80% of x is equal to 40 i.e.,

80100×x=40x=40×10080x=50

Hence, the total number of apples are 50.
