We have,

Remaining $=x-\frac{x}{5}=\frac{4x}{5}$

Damaged no. of dolls $=\frac{25}{100}\times \frac{4x}{5}=\frac{x}{5}$

No. of dolls left over were $=x-\frac{x}{5}-\frac{4x}{5}$

$=\frac{3x}{5}$

$\frac{3x}{5}=4800$

$x=8000$

Hence,

Original number of dolls is $8000$.
