Solution

Step 1. Find out area of square floor

Area of square floor = (side)2

= (30m)2

= 900 m2

Step2. Find out the area of a triangular tile

Area of a triangular tile = 12×base × altitude

= 12×3 m × 4 m

= 3m ×2 m

= 6 m2

Step3. Find out number of tiles required by dividing Area of square floor and area of one triangular tile

Number of tiles required = AreaofsquarefloorAreaofonetriangularfield

= 900m26m2

= 150

Hence 150 tiles are needed to cover the floor.
