Question

3.6 g of an ideal gas was injected into a bulb of internal volume of 8 L at pressure P atm and temp T K. The bulb was then placed in a thermostat maintained at (T+15)K. 0.6 g of the gas was left off to keep the original pressure. Find T(in K) if mol weight of gas is 44.(If the answer is X, then enter the answer as X15) :

Solution

P×8=(3.6M)×R×T ....(i)
from eq. (i)/(ii)

P×8=(3.0M)×R×(T+15) ...(ii)

3.6×T=3(T+15)

=3T+45T=450.6=75K.

P=3.644×0.0821×758=0.062atm.
