$3 x + 2 (x + 2) = 20 - (2 x - 5)$

Given equation:
$3 x + 2 (x + 2) = 20 - (2 x - 5)$
$\Rightarrow 3 x + 2 x + 4 = 20 - 2 x + 5$
$\Rightarrow 5 x + 4 = 25 - 2 x$
$\Rightarrow 5 x + 2 x = 25 - 4$
$\Rightarrow 7 x = 21$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{21}{7}$
$\Rightarrow x = 3$
Verification:
LHS $= (3 x + 2 (x + 2)$
Put $x = 3$
$\Rightarrow$ LHS $= (3 (3) + 2 (3 + 2)$
$= 9 + 2 (5)$
$= 9 + 10$
$= 19$ ---(1)
RHS $= 20 - (2 x - 5)$
Put $x = 3$
$\Rightarrow$ RHS $= 20 - (2 (3) - 5)$
$= 20 - (6 - 5)$
$= 20 - 1$
$= 19$ ---(2)
Therefore, LHS $=$ RHS.
