Question

4.9 g of H2SO4 is present in 100 mL of the solution. What is the molarity of the solution? Calculate its normality also.

Open in App
Solution

Strength (g/L) of H2SO4=4.9100×1000=49
Molarity=StrengthMol.mass=4948=0.5 M
Normality=n×Molarity
n=Mol.massEq.mass=9849=2
Normality=2×0.5=1.0
Hence, the H2SO4 solution is 1 N.
