40 litres of milk was mixed with 50 litres of water in jar A. Some parts of this mixture is then removed and poured into jar B containing 13 litres of pure milk in it. If the ratio of milk and water in Jar B is 5: 3, then what is the amount of mixture remaining in jar A?

Quantity of solution in Jar A = 90 L
Milk: water ratio in jar B will be =13+(49)x:(59)xNow, 3(13+49x)=5(59x)
Solving, we get x=27 litres
Quantity of mixture remaining in Jar A = 90- 27 = 63 L
