$3 x + 4 y = 10] \times 4 \to (2)$
$\Rightarrow e q (2) - e q (1)$
$\Rightarrow 12 x + 16 y 12 x - 9 y = 40 - 117$
$\Rightarrow 7 y = - 77$
$y = - 11$
$3 x - 44 = 10 \Rightarrow 3 x = 5 y$
x = 18
x -y = 18 -(-11)
= 18 + 11 = 29
