Solution

Evaporation will be faster when both samples are kept under a fan.

  • Evaporation is a process in which a liquid is changed into a gas vapour form.
  • Evaporation is a surface phenomenon.
  • The various factors affecting evaporation are temperature, surface area, humidity, and wind speed.
  • So as we know that if the surface area increases the rate of evaporation will also increase, so the sample kept in a china dish will have a high rate of evaporation than the sample present in a test tube.
  • And since a fan helps in the fast movement of the air, water will quickly get to evaporate under a fan than inside a cupboard.
  • If the samples are kept inside the cupboard the outside air will not come in contact with water and therefore no evaporation can take place inside the cupboard.
