Silicones are polymer of silicon metal and is formed in three stages

Reason for its use

  • It is highly resistant to heat.
  • It highly resistant to chemicals, hence when an acidic substance like vinegar or lemon is used then also silicone does not reacts with it.
  • It has non - sticky nature , hence it does not allows the food to stick to it, therefore a coating of silicone is provided to enhance the non - sticky nature of pans.
