So, final speed v=0
Now, from equation of motion
v2=u2+2as
0=9+2a×9
a=−0.5m/s2
Negative sign shows that acceleration is downward
Now, the net acceleration is
a=−(a+g)
a=−(0.5+9.8)
a=−10.3m/s2
Now, the force is
F=ma
F=50×10.3
F=515N
Hence, the force is 515 N
