Question

A 50m long train passes over a bridge at a speed if 30km/h. If it takes 36 s to cross the bridge , the length of the bridge is?

Open in App
Solution

Let the length of bridge be x m
length of train = 50m
distance covered by train = (50+x) m
speed = 30km/h => 30×5/18 => 25/3 m/s
time taken = 36 s

we know that ,
speed=distance/time
distance = Speed × time
50+x = 25/3×36
x = 300-50 => 250m
