A and B invested Rs 1200 and Rs 1500 respectively in a business. After 8 months A withdrew his entire money and C joined them with Rs 2000. If after a year, a total of Rs 1780 is obtained as a profit, find the total share of B and C?

$C$ joined them for $=12-8=4$ months

Ratio of their profits,

$\Rightarrow 1200\times 8:1500\times 12:2000\times 4$

$\Rightarrow 24:45:20$

Total Profit earned by them $=1780$

Profit earned by $B$ and $C$ together,

$\Rightarrow \frac{45+20}{24+45+20}\times 1780$

$\Rightarrow \frac{65}{89}\times 1780$

$\Rightarrow 1300$ Rs.

$\therefore$ Profit earned by $B$ and $C$ together $=1300$ Rs
