A bag contains $25$ paise coins, $50$ paise coins and $1$ Rupee coins whose values are in the ratio of $8:4:2$ the total values of the coins are $840$. Find the total number of coins?

Let the ratio be $\text{x}$.

The given ratio is $=8:4:2$

So the number of $25$ paise coins $=8\text{x}$

Number of $50$ paise coins $=4\text{x}$

Number of $1$rupee coins $=\text{2x}$

According to the question the total values of coins is $=8\text{x+4x+2x=840}$

$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow \text{14x=840} \\ \Rightarrow \text{x=}\frac{840}{14}\text{=60} \end{gathered}$$

Amount of $25$ paise coin $=\text{8x=8(60)=480}$

Amount of $50$ paise coin $=4\text{x=4(60)=240}$

Amount of $1$rupee coin $=2\text{x=2(60)=120}$

Hence, the coins are $480,240,120.$
