∵ Value of ₹ 2 coin is twice of ₹ 1 coin.
∴ Ratio of value of ₹ 2 coins to that of ₹ 1 coins = 4 : 1
Total value of money = ₹ 500
500 is equivalent to 4 + 1 = 5 units.
⇒ 100 is equivalent to 1 unit.
∵ Ratio of number of ₹ 2 coins to that of ₹ 1 coins = 2 : 1
∴ Number of ₹ 2 coins = 2 units = 200
and Number of ₹ 1 coins = 1 unit = 100
Thus, number of ₹ 1 coins is 100.
