Solution

The correct option is C 720

The 50p, 25p and 10p coins are in the ratio 5:9:4.

Hence let the no. of coins be = 5x , 9x , 4x respectively

The total amount in the bag is = Rs.206

=> (0.50)(5x) + (0.25)(9x) + (0.10)(4x) = 206
= 2.5x + 2.25x + .4x = 206
= 5.15x = 206
= x = 2065.15
x = 40

=> No. of 50p coins = 5x 40 = 200

=> No. of 25p coins = 9x 40 = 360

=> No. of 10p coins = 4x 40 = 160

=> Total No. of coins in the bag = 200 + 360 + 160 = 720 coins
