Since There is no external force, we can apply momentum conservation,
Taking the direction of the ball with velocity V positive.
P2=m(2V)=2mV
P1=m(V)=mV
Pi=mV2mV=mV
and Pf=mv1+mv2
Pi=Pf
mV=mv2mv1
v2+v1=V ...(i)
collision is elastic so e=1
e=v2v12V+V
v2+v1=3V ....(ii)
from 1 and 2
v1=2V and v2=V
Hence option D is correct.
