The correct option is D 44.7oC
Given,
n1=1 mole
R=0.0821
T1=5oC=278K
V1=480ml=0.48L
P1=n1RT1V1=1×0.0821×2780.48
P1=47.55atm
Now, as the given volume i.e. 480ml is 7/8th of the total capacity.
Thus total volume will be
480ml×87=548.57ml
The new temperature at which the balloon can burst will be at highest volume of balloon,
P1V2=n1RT2
47.55atm×548.57ml=1×0.0821×T2
T2=317.7K
T2=44.7oC
This is the minimum temperature at which balloon burst.
