A banquet hall with a floor 25m long and 10m wide has to be covered with square-shaped shahabad stones, on each of side 50cm. Calculate the number of stones that will be required to cover the entire floor of the banquet hall.

The length of floor =25m

The breadth of floor =10m

Area of the rectangular stone =l×b

=25×10=250

So, the area of the Rectangle is 250m2=250×10000=2500000cm2.

Then we need to find the area of stones

Area of Stone =Side×Side

=50×50=2500

Then the number of stone =AreaofFloorAreaofStone

=25000002500=1000

Hence, the number of stones is 1000.
