As friction force is a self-adjusting force it increases linearly with applied force $(F)$ but after gaining its maximum value $(μ N)$ it remains constant.

Final Answer. $f = F$ until the block is stationary. $f$ remains constant if $F$ increases beyond this point and the block starts moving.
