A body is thrown vertically up with a velocity 98 m/s. How much high it will rise ? (g = 9.8 $m/s^2$). Give your answer in metres.

Here,

u = 98 m/s , a = -9.8 $m/s^2$,v = 0 (velocity at highest point will be zero)

Using, $v^2$ = $u^2$ + 2as

0 = ${98}^2$- (2 x 9.8 x S)

S = 490m
