Total cost of three books

Step $2$: Find net amount paid by Dilshan to store

Discount given by store for all the three books$=10\%\times \text{Cost of three books}$
$$\begin{gathered} =10\%\times 1120 \\ =\frac{10}{100}x1220 \\ =\text{RS}122 \end{gathered}$$

So, the amount Dilshan need to pay after the discount is given is $1220-122=\text{Rs}1098$
It is given that if the total bill after the initial discount is more than or equal to Rs. $1000$ then, there will be an additional discount of $5\%$ on the total bill:

Additional discount $=\frac{5}{100}x1098=\text{Rs}54.90$

So, the amount Dilshan need to pay after additional discount would be $1098–54.90=\text{Rs}1043.10$
