A box contains $Rs.56$ in the form of coins of one rupee, $50$ paise and $25$ paise. The number of $50$ paise coins is double the number of $25$ paise coins and four times the number of one rupee coins.
How many $50$ paise coins are their in the box ?

Solution:

Assume the number of $1$ rupees coin to be $x$.

Number of $25$ paise is $2x$

Then, the number of $50$ paise is $4x$.
The box contains $56$ rupees ie. $5600$ paise

Therefore equation is $100x+(50\times 4x)+(25\times 2x)=5600$

$100x+200x+50x=5600$

$350x=5600$

$x=\frac{5600}{350}$

$x=16$

Number of 50 paise coin is $4x=16\times 4=64$.

The answer is $64$.
