A boy adds some hot water (not too hot) in an aquarium to make the water warm. The fish doesn't die from the heat. What happens?
After some time, all the fish will die.
Aquatic animals use dissolved oxygen to breathe in water. As the temperature of the water increases, the amount of dissolved oxygen decreases.
So, when hot water is added to the aquarium, the amount of dissolved oxygen in water shall decrease. Due to the decreased oxygen content in the water, the fish will find it difficult to breathe and will eventually die.
