Given: voltage, V = 230 volts, power consumed, P = 100 watts,
time, t = 4 hours.
Let the resistance of the bulb = R.
So using, P=V²R,
R=V²P
=230²100=529 Ω.
Now, energy consumed = heat generated, H=V²R × t

t = 4 hours = 4 × 3600 = 14400 s.

So, H=230²529 × 14400

Therefore, H=1.44×105J.
