Solution

Dear Student

Heat energy absorbed when 40 g of ice at 0 degree celsius changes into 40 g of water at 0 degree celsius.

H1 = mL = 40 L
Heat energy absorbed when 40 g of water at 0 degree celsius changes into 40 g of water at 75 degree celsius.

H2 = mCT = 40(4.2 J/gK)(75)= 12600

Rate of heat energy supplied per sec =Heat suppliedtime taken434 J/s =40L+126006040L=26040-12600= 13440L= 336 J/gK
