A bus starting from rest moves with a uniform acceleration of 0.1 ms² for 2 minutes. Find (a) the speed acquired, (b) the distance travelled.

a=0.1 metre per second
t = 2min =2*60 =120 sec
initial speed , u=0
a) Using first equation of motion ,
v=u+at
v = 0 + 0.1 *120
so, v= 12 ms^-1

b) from the 2nd equation of motion , we get
distance travelled
s= ut +1/2 at2
or s = 0 * 120 + 1/2 *0.1 *(120)²
= 0+ 0.1*60*120
=720m
