A camel of mass 450 kg is standing on sand, whose area of cross sections of each leg is 225 cm².Calculate the pressure exerted by the camel ?

Solution

Total area = 4 x 225 cm^2 = 900 cm^2 = 0.09 m^2

Total force = Weight = 450 x 10 N = 4500 N

So, pressure = Force/Area = 4500 / 0.09 = 50000 Pa
