A car is moving in a circular path of radius 2 metre. Calculate both the distance and the magnitude of the displacement of the car after:

1) one complete revolution
2) one half revolution
3) one fourth revolution

displacement ,AB(As it is the shortest distance between these 2 points) =

If you consider O as centre of circle

We can see in triangle ABO

By pythagoras theorem


We know AB^2 =OA^2+OB^2

AB = √ OA^2+OB^2

OA =OB =r =2m

= √ 2^2+2^2

=√ 8 m
