Solution

Given:

Speed of car =50 km/hr

To find: The distance travelled by car in 12 minutes.

Case 1:

Distance =50 km, Time =1 hr=60 minutes

Case 2:

Let the distance =x, Time =12 minutes

Since, if the distance will increase then the time taken to travel by car will be also increase.

So, this situation is in direct proportion.

i.e., the quotient of the quantities are in proportion.

50 km60 minutes=x12 minutes

56×12=x

10=x
Therefore, distance travelled in 12 minutes =10 km.
