Solution

Finding the number of hours it will take to repair the car:

Given,

Charge of labor = $80/hour

Charge of parts = $210

The total cost paid for repairing = $490

Let the number of hours required to repair be x.

The total cost of repairing = Charge of parts + Number of hours x Charge of labor

$490=$210+$80x$280=$80xx=28080=72hours=3.5hours

Hence, the number of hours required to repair the car is 3.5hours.
