Time taken to travel distance $S$

$t_{1} = \frac{S}{V_{1}} = \frac{S}{30} . . . . . . (1)$

$t_{2} = \frac{S}{V_{2}} = \frac{S}{50} \dots \dots (2)$
Average speed $= \frac{T o t a l d i s t a n c e}{t o t a l t i m e} = \frac{S + S}{t_{1} + t_{2}} = \frac{S + S}{\frac{S}{30} + \frac{S}{50}}$

Average speed $= \frac{100 \times 30}{30 + 50} = 37.5 k m h^{- 1}$
Since Initial and final position are same displacement is zero.
