Question

A cheetah, the fastest animal can achieve a peak value of velocity 100km/h up to a distance less than 500m. If a cheetah spots his prey at a distance of 100m, what is the minimum time it will take to get its prey?

Solution

Step 1: Given

Velocity =100km/h ,Distances = 500meters.

Step 2: Finding time
We know,

Distance=speed×timeS=v×tt=sv

Where, V = velocity, s = distance and t = time
V=100kmh
=100×1000m3600s
=27.7m/s
Distance, s=100m
Minimum time, t=sv=10027.7=3.6sec
Thus, The minimum time it will take to get it's prey is 3.6 second.
