Given that:

Thickness of wood $= 1.5 c m$

Length of rectangular box $l = 72 - 2 \times 1.5 = 69 c m$

Breadth of rectangular box $b = 48 - 2 \times 1.5 = 45 c m$

Height of rectangular box $h = 24 - 2 \times 1.5 = 23 c m$

Capacity of box $= l . b . h$

$= 69 \times 45 \times 23$

$= 71415 c m^{3} .$

Hence, this is the required answer.
