If 24 gal of water is already filled in it, how much more water is required to fill the container completely?

Open in App
Solution

Capacity of the container = 25 qt

Amount of water available in it = 24 gal

Let's convert gal to qt.

We know that,
1 gal = 4 qt

So,
24 gal = 24 × 4 qt =2 qt

Hence, out of 25 qt capacity of the container, 2 qt is already filled.

Amount of water to be filled = Total capacity – Amount of water available
= 25 qt – 2 qt=23 qt

Therefore, 23 qt of water is required to be filled in the container.
