Solution

The correct option is D 68.25oC
Answer : D. 68.25oC

We have ideal gas equation, PV=nRT

Here, only P and T changes. n, R and V (volume of the container) remain same.

From the question,
P1 = 2 atm
T1 = 0oC = 273K

P2 = 2.50 atm
T2 = ?

For P1 and T1 ideal gas equation becomes, P1V=nRT1 ---------> ( 1 )

For P2 and T2 ideal gas equation becomes, P2V=nRT2 ---------> ( 2 )

Divide equation ( 1 ) by ( 2 ) we get,

P1VP2V=nRT1nRT2

=>P1P2=T1T2 =>22.50=273T2

=>T2=273×2.502=341.25K
=>T2=341.25273oC=68.25oC

option D. 68.25oC is correct
