Question

A cow eats 34 kg of grass at a time, what quantity of grass is needed to feed 4 cows?

Open in App
Solution

Quantity of grass eaten by a cow = 34 kg
34 kg = Three quarters of a kg
Quantity of grass needed to feed 4 cows = Three quarters of a kg + Three quarters of a kg + Three quarters of a kg + Three quarters of a kg
= 12 quarter kg
Now we know that 4 quarters make a whole.
So, 12 quarter kg = 12 ÷ 4
= 3 kg
