If we use fleming’s left hand rule to determine the direction of the magnetic field from the side of the rectangle which is nearer to the wire, we can see that the magnetic field will repel the wire.
This is because, as we apply Fleming's Left hand Rule for both loop and wire, the direction of forces obtained are opposite to each other.
Now, as this force is greater than the force applied by the farther side of the loop on the wire, the net effect is that the loop repels the wire.
