Solution

A. The velocity of an object at a particular instant, is known as instantaneous velocity.
The velocity at which a complete journey is assumed to be completed over a period of time is called as average velocity.
Average velocity=total displacement/total time taken.

B.

Distance travelled in first part = 40 km

Distance travelled in second part = 30 x 2 = 60 km

Total distance = 100 km

Total time = 3 h

Average velocity = 100/3 = 33.3 km/h
