A diverging lens of focal length 10 cm is placed 10 cm away in front of a plane mirror as shown in figure. Light from a very far away source falls on the lens. An observer is situated somewhere in between lens and mirror, and observer is looking towards mirror. The observer will see the image behind the mirror at a distance :

The image by lens is created at the focal point of lens as the object is at infinity,

So, v=10

This serves as object for mirror with object distance u+d=10+10=20 cm
