Given the present age of father =50 years

present age of son's =20 years

Step 2: Find the age of the father when son was 10 years old

10 years ago father age was =40 years

10 years ago son age was =10 years

Step 3:Now find the ratio of the father's age to his son's age

Required Ratio =40:10

Step 4: Convert ratio into a fraction and write its simplest form

=4010

=41

Hence, the ratio of father's age to his son's age when son was 10 years old is 4:1
