A first order reaction is found to have a rate constant, K=5.5×1014S1.
The relationship between the half life period (t1/2) and the rate constant, K for first order reaction is given by the following expression.
t1/2=0.693k
Substitute values in the above expression.
t1/2=0.6935.5×1014S1
t1/2=1.26×1013S.
The half life of the reaction is 1.26×1013S.
