Solution

The tank is in the shape of a cuboid.
To find the area of the paper required, we need to calculate the surface area of the cuboidal tank and subtract the area of the top side and the front side.

Total surface area(TSA) of a cuboid of length l, breadth b and height h =2(l×b+b×h+l×h)
Given length l=80 cm ,breadth b=40 cm and height h=30 cm

Total Surface Area of Cuboid

=2(80×40+40×30+30×80)=2(3200+1200+2400)=13600 cm2

Area of the top side =80×40=3200 cm2

Area of the front side =80×30=2400 cm2

Hence. area of the paper required =1360032002400=8000 cm2
