We can split the floor into two rectangles as shown below


Let's calcualte the number of tiles in the first rectangle.
Number of row =2
Number of tiles in each row =5
Number of tiles =5+5= number of rows × number of tiles in each row =2×5=10
Let's calculate the number of tiles in the second rectangle.
Number of rows =2
Number of tiles in each row =3
Number of tiles =3+3= rows × number of tiles in each row =2×3=6
Total number of tiles = number of tiles in the first rectangle + number of tiles in the second rectangle
=10+6=16 square tiles
