A force of $2N$ acts on an object. The displacement is say $8m$ in the direction of the force (Fig. $11.3$). Let us take it that the force acts on the object through the displacement. What is the work done in this case?

The work done (W) is given by.

$W=F.d$

where F = Force acying on the object

d = displacement of the object in the direction of the force

Given,

$F=2N$

$d=8m$

$W=2\times 8$

$\therefore W=16J$.

Thus, the work done is 16 J.
