Question

A force of 50 N acts on a stationary body of mass 10 kg for 2 seconds. Find the acceleration produced in the body and velocity attained by it.

Open in App
Solution

Acc. to Newton's law of motion
F = ma ........(1)
here , m = mass of body
a = acceleration
given. F = 50 N
m= 10
t = 2
so putting these values .... we can find out the acceleration from eq (1)
50 = 10 a
a = 50÷10 = 5

To find velocity we use formula of acceleration
a = velocity ÷ time
now put the values of a and t abd get velocity

5 = v ÷ 2
v = 5×2 = 10 m/s
