a fruit seller brought some watermelons at rupees 8 each . out of these , five were broken .he sold the remaining at rupees 15 each and made a gain of rupees 275. how many watermelons did he buy?

Answer :
Let , Total number of water melon he buy = x
So, From given condition , we get
15 ( x - 5 ) - 8x = 275
15x - 75 - 8x = 275
7x = 350
x = 50
So,
Total number of water melon he buy = 50 ( Ans )
