The gas X is chlorine and the gas Y is hydrogen.
Chlorine dissolves in water to form HCl and oxygen.

Silver nitrate reacts with chlorine water to form white precipitate of silver chloride.
AgNO3+HCl+AgCl(white)+HNO3
