A godown measures 40m×25m×15m. Find the maximum number of wooden crates each measuring 1.5m×1.25m×0.5m that can be stored in the godown.

We have to find the maximum number of wooden crates that can be stored in the godown.

Since godown and wooden crates, both are cuboidal in shape and we know that formula for the volume of a cuboid=l×b×h

So, the volume of the godown=40×25×15=15000m3

The volume of the wooden crates=1.5×1.25×0.5=0.9375m3

Let us assume that wooden crates can be stored in the godown=n

The volume of nwooden crates =Volume of godown

0.9375×n=15000

n=150000.9375=16000

Hence, 16000 crates can be stored in the godown.
